OSCA Squad Structure
The OSCA squad structure is based on measurable standards that determine the speed with which a swimmer progresses through the squads.
C Squad Selection Criteria
The C Squad is the entry level or development squad. To gain entry to the C Squad the swimmer must meet the following requirements:
• Swim 200 meters freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke
• Swim 100 meters butterfly
• Demonstrate proficiency at a competition race start
• Perform correct turns and be able to finish on all four strokes.
C Squad swimmers train 4 sessions per week.
B Squad Selection Criteria
Prior to moving up to the B Squad the swimmer must achieve a specific FINA Point rating based on the swimmers age. The requirements will be discussed individually with the swimmer and the swimmers parents.
B squad trains 5 times per week.
A Squad Selection Criteria
The A squad is divided up into various levels based on FINA Point. Again, the required points will be discussed with the swimmer and the swimmers parents.

• A1
• Elite
In addition to the FINA points requirements A Squad swimmers must also:
• Attend 8 – 10 training sessions per week
• Maintain a positive attitude in training sessions
• Must achieve national age group qualifying times
